Reality television, dominating the tube right now, is about the behavior of real people in various situations where they are insulted and humiliated. The irony in these shows is that they are all staged which clearly shows that reality shows are unreal. Unscripted dramas are like sports. Reality programs are cheap to produce and are also popular with viewers as the programs can be unpredictable and people are often nosy. This erases the boundaries between the public & private. This is a great and new way of telling a story and the audience can easily identified the themes which makes reality television so profitable. These programs will always have a place on television, but the prospects for it are dim when the viewers runs out of idea and the viewers becomes bored, it will ruin reputation of network, there will also be other competition when other forms of programs will be created.
